YAHUKIMO - In a heartfelt display of unity and support, the Infantry Battalion 6 Marines, under the Indonesian Armed Forces Operational Command HABEMA, showcased their dedication to both security and community well-being in Yahukimo Regency, Papua Pegunungan Province.
On Monday, 25 November 2024, the Marines Task Forces Patrol Team carried out their routine security duties in Muara Village, Dekai District. However, what set this patrol apart was their innovative “ROSITA” program, short for Buy Up Farming Products. As the team passed through a bustling market, they paused to engage with local farmers and purchase their produce directly, bringing smiles to the faces of many hardworking sellers.

Lieutenant Colonel Rismanto Manurung, Commander of the Marines Task Forces, had previously encouraged his Soldiers to assist local communities in overcoming their daily struggles, emphasizing that true security goes hand-in-hand with fostering trust and economic growth. Guided by this spirit, First Lieutenant Nico led his team from the Logpon Post to turn their patrol into a mission of kindness.
The Soldiers, using their own funds, eagerly bought fresh produce from the local sellers, who responded with heartfelt gratitude. Mama Ria Hanuebi, one of the farmers, expressed her joy, saying, "Thank you, Soldier. God bless."
The success of the ROSITA initiative didn’t go unnoticed. Brigadier General Lucky Avianto, the HABEMA Commanding General, praised the Marines’ efforts, stating:
"The Marines Task Forces’ initiative demonstrates the TNI’s unwavering commitment to uplifting the local economy while ensuring regional security. These actions are vital in accelerating development and fostering optimism in Papua."
The ROSITA program has proven to be more than just a gesture of goodwill it is a beacon of hope for the region.
